Posted in Uncategorized on 01/28/2010 05:21 pm by CassieSo I’ve been having a bit of a tough time and with the recession last year in was trying work out ways to save a few quid. Haven’t we all, you say and you are right. But I am so glad I’m not an investment banker as I seem to make the wrong choices all the time.
In October it was yet again time for MOT, road tax and insurance and given that my little car is 7 years old and not worth much anymore and the last accident I had where I had to make an insurance claim was about 22 years ago I thought it was a good way of saving £100 by going 3rd party, fire and theft.
Can you guess what’s coming? Yep, my little bug is a write off after having had an accident on the M6 yesterday. I am so annoyed, but I suppose after the crash had sent me into a spin and landed me facing the wrong way against the barrier in the fast lane, I am lucky to walk away with a whiplash injury.
For 15 terrifying minutes I was stuck in my car with traffic, only slightly slowing down, coming towards me. To make matters worse the other car involved was a bit further down across the slow and middle lane, so cars were changing into the fast lane to avoid hitting that car and therefore heading straight for me.
Well, we all walked away from this alive, but I still can’t help being peed off about having changed my insurance and also losing my no claims bonus, I stopped protecting that years ago.
Rant about our boys in black

Now I had all good intentions of keeping this year’s blog light hearted and fun, so what do I go and do? Tell you guys my mum has passed away – how cheerful!
And now I am going to launch into a rant about our boys in black. In general I have respect for many of the individual law enforcement officers, apart from those who think their badge makes them some sort of deity, but that’s another story.
What has got my back up and not just mine is the news story about Myleen Klass being told of by police officers for waving a knife at the teenagers peering through her window. If I had been in her place, at home alone with a young daughter I would have done the same or worse.
I assume if the youths had broken in and she had killed one of them she would have been jailed for murder? What has it come to? A person can’t even try to scare possible invaders off? I suppose she should have opened the door and invited them in for tea. Common sense has left the building.
It also begs the question if we all become potential criminals every time we eat or prepare food with the well known kitchen implement called a knife.
Should it be law that we need to put down any item of cutlery before we can speak to someone who addresses us at the dinner table?
And maybe every household will need a sign for the kitchen door: DO NOT ENTER. Occupant is chopping veg. Wait to be given the all clear.
Hmm, I think I need to contact some businesses in China or Japan, this might do wonders for the chopstick industry – of course only the ones with flat or rounded ends.

I had to disappear in a bit of a rush up to Scotland and didn’t get a chance to organise internet access up there and in the tiny village I found myself stranded there were no wifi hotspots to be found.
Trying to field my emails via mobile phone was one thing, but trying to get onto my blog and posting had to be given up as a bad job.
To be honest I was also not exactly in the right frame of mind anyway, as I was dealing with the sudden passing of the most important person in my life, my mum.
It still hurts like hell when I think about her not being here anymore and the grief will take a while to ease, but in the mean time life has to go on, as they say a woman’s work is never done and to my surprise, my sex drive is returning with avengeance and it helps me to forget for a couple of blissful hours.
So gentlemen and ladies help me while away some hours in pleasant sensation.
These legs are open for business!
