Carpet wars!

A few months ago, whilst browsing around the shops I came across some nice fluffy black shag-pile rugs on sale, just the thing to complete my bedroom make over and set off my lovely silver and black satin bedspread.
I bought three, rushed home with my booty and put them in place.
Well for the rest of the day I kept finding reasons to walk past my bedroom to peek in, jump up and down with glee and couldn’t wait to go to bed.
Since then I still love the look, but I hate those rugs, it’s worse than living with three long-haired black Persian cats, they shed like there is no tomorrow.
The exposed parts of the gold carpet that runs throughout my flat look grubby and dirty, because they are covered with a fine layer of black wool fibres. These fibres seem to hold on to the carpet for dear life and no amount of vacuuming can shift them.
Result is, at least once a week I have to don my pink marigolds and crawl on my hands and knees around my flat, massaging the floor to lift all the rug hairs.
Unfortunately there appears to be no letting up of the shedding and though I win the weekly battle the rugs are slowly wearing me down and are going to win the war…
